About Howie Baird

I am a United Methodist Pastor serving in Piedmont, SD. I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1995. After serving for several years as the Music and Youth Pastor at Sunnycrest UMC in Sioux Falls, SD I went on to seminary at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO, graduating in 2003. While in seminary I pursued a secondary specialization in snowboarding. I am passionate about many things, including my family, music, and mountain biking. The thing that gets me most excited, however, is the work God has tasked me with.

Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. At the core of my faith is the call to not only work in that field, but to call others to join in the work. To many Christians today get stuck in the pew and need to be reminded that once God lays claim to our lives, He then tasks our lives by calling us to witness to His glory, praying with those searching for faith, teaching others the Good News of Christ, and encouraging others in their journey with God.

My hope and prayer for this site is that you will find the strength you need to move beyond faith and into praxis–the act of putting that faith into action. May God guide you and give you strength in your faith walk.

Peace,

Rev. Howie
